What is the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?

Static QR codes encode data directly and cannot be changed after creation. Dynamic QR codes use a short URL that redirects to your destination, allowing you to edit the target URL anytime and track scan analytics.

Do I need an account to create QR codes?

No account is needed for static QR codes. They are generated entirely in your browser and downloaded instantly. Dynamic QR codes require a free account to enable URL editing. Scan analytics are available on the Advanced plan.

What analytics do dynamic QR codes provide?

Dynamic QR codes track total scans, unique visitors, device types (iOS, Android, desktop), browsers, geographic locations, and scan timestamps. All data is available in your dashboard.

Are there any limits on scans?

No. Both static and dynamic QR codes support unlimited scans. There are no monthly caps or overage charges.

Are there any creation limits?

Free users can create 6 dynamic QR codes per day, 2 projects, and 3 QR codes with logos. Advanced users get 30 per hour, 10 projects, and unlimited logos. Once created, your QR codes never expire and support unlimited scans.

Can I use LinkScan QR codes commercially?

Yes. All QR codes generated with LinkScan can be used for commercial purposes. There are no licensing restrictions on the codes you create.

What happens if I downgrade from Advanced?

Your existing QR codes, projects, and team members are preserved. You can still view and edit them, but you cannot create new ones if you are over the Free tier limits.

Is my data private?

Static QR codes are generated entirely in your browser. Your data never leaves your device. Dynamic QR codes require server-side URL redirection, but we only store the minimum data needed for analytics.

Is my payment information secure?

All payments are processed securely by Stripe, the same payment infrastructure trusted by Amazon, Google, and millions of businesses worldwide. LinkScan never sees or stores your card details. Stripe is PCI Level 1 certified, the highest level of security certification in the payments industry.
